My daughter was a classmate of Joshua Moore’s in Sueanne’s kindergarden class.  When Joshua went into the hospital this past October I was asked to sub for Sueanne.  One of the only songs I could think of to sing and hum while in the classroom during those tender days was “We Are Children” which was written by my mother, Alice Damon, when I was a little girl.
After Joshua’s death I sang it again at the service that was held at our school, but this time I was singing it for Joshua and I could feel that it was really my mother’s gift to him.  After all, she is a grandmother and even though she’s in spirit she’s still very much a grandmother….maybe even more so.
The next time I sang it was for Joshua’s parents, Christina and Jason Moore, at the candlelight vigil that Sueanne held for them every week.  It was then that I realized that I was meant to give it to Joshua and his family as an offering from my mother and me.
The song “We Are Children” is now being offered to you for purchase and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Joshua Moore Scholarship Fund, making it possible for children to attend our amazing school who otherwise would be unable to.
I just love thinking that Joshua and Grandma Alice are together in the heavenly realms, laughing and giggling at the thought that they are supporting each other and fulfilling their earthly dreams without even being here!  Bravo Joshua & Alice.  When you listen to it, in honor of all those who have passed before us, please do your very best to follow the words, embrace their true meaning and let your heart wings open wide.
With many blessings and so much love we make this offering to you and yours.
