Dear Lake Champlain Waldorf School Community,

With profound sadness we share with you that Christopher White suffered a heart attack on Monday night and passed away almost instantly. Christopher is the husband of kindergarten teacher Karen White and father of alumna Anna (‘13), Sarah in the 12th grade, and Hailey in the 10th grade. He has been a loved and active member of our school community for almost 25 years. We will share a tribute to Christopher in a future communication.

There will be a memorial service this Saturday, January 31st, at 2:30 at All Souls Interfaith Gathering, 291 Bostwick Farm Road, in Shelburne. You are all warmly welcome to attend. Karen and the family are deeply grateful for your outpouring of love and support.

A close friend of the family has set up a CaringBridge social network site to help us stay connected and offer support to the White family. You may go to Christopher’s site to receive updates and share messages of encouragement and compassion in the Guestbook. The site link is: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/christopherwhitevt and site name is: christopherwhitevt.

The 12th grade play, which was scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed in support of Sarah and the family. When the new date is set, it will be announced in the newsletter.

Thank you for extending prayers and love to the White family.

In love and partnership,

Andrea Bayer

May 17, 5:00-10:00 pm

The Spring Benefit Gala, “One Fair Evening,” is the school’s largest musical, social and fundraising event of the year. The May 17th program features performances by the student choruses and orchestra, the community chorus, as well as our signature silent auction, a live auction, delicious sweet and savory treats designed by Rustic Roots Cafe, and a cash bar. This year’s concert is an all Dvořák theme, including selections from the Mass in D Major dedicated in loving memory to Joshua Nolan Moore.

Doors open at 5pm, to enjoy the silent auction and fantastic hors d’oeuvres. The concert will begin at 6:30 and run for approximately one hour. After the concert the party continues until 10:00pm. The Live Auction will take place at 8:30pm.

For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit the benefit website.
