9th Grade Main Lesson This survey of art from prehistoric times through modern times covers the development of art with relationship to the cultural and political climate of the artists.
Poetry
10th Grade Main Lesson
 The Main Lesson traces different forms of poetry through the ages and looks at how poetry developed and changed over time. Students study modern poetry and song lyrics, craft many of their own poems (unfolding poems, metaphor poems, haiku's, limericks, image poems, meter poems, rhymed poems, alliteration poems, sonnets, memory poems, and free poems), and engage in poetry writing exercises and short writings on a daily basis.
History of Architecture
11th and 12th Grade Main Lesson
The class surveys western architecture beginning with the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt through modern architecture in the 20th and 21st centuries, noting how each style develops from the preceding one and reflects the culture of the time. Students design and build a model of a retreat appropriate for a chosen type of work.
