OUR MISSION

We are dedicated to a transformative, empowering education rooted in love for the world.

We are at the cutting edge of Waldorf education, blending traditional Waldorf pedagogy with a contemporary, evidence-based curriculum to ensure that our students are met academically, creatively, socially, and emotionally.

Outdoor learning, integrated arts, and hands-on experiences are an essential part of our education. Students don't simply learn about the world, they have opportunities to encounter it directly, to make, create, explore, question, and contribute.

Social justice is woven throughout our curriculum and community life. Students learn from and about historically marginalized people and communities, developing a deeper understanding of history, culture, and the many perspectives that shape our world.

Our experiential STEM curriculum features Common-Core-aligned math and hands-on technological science, and gives students the opportunity to conceive and create projects with real-world applications.

A seasonal calendar of local and out-of-state trips expands learning beyond the classroom, giving students opportunities to encounter different communities, cultures,  histories, traditions, and perspectives.

A robust student support network means that we can teach our students the way they learn best and give them the greatest opportunity for success.

We lay the foundation for lifelong learning, so that all of our graduates, no matter what path they take, step into the world with curiosity, courage, and compassion.

FIVE PRINCIPLES

As our school grows, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the following principles:

1

Our education is

Developmental

Our curriculum aligns with students’ developmental stages, ensuring that content and teaching methods meet their evolving needs. Our youngest students learn through play, imitation, and purposeful work. As students enter puberty and shift away from the wonder of early childhood, the curriculum expands into laboratory sciences, physics, chemistry, geology, astronomy, and physiology – subjects that reignite curiosity and intellectual engagement. Additionally, our project-based cyber civics curriculum introduces digital literacy before students engage with technology, ensuring they navigate the digital world with care, intention, and self-awareness.

2

Our education is

Interdisciplinary

We embrace each discipline – mathematics, literacy, history, science, science, music, and art – for its intrinsic importance, while weaving connections between them. Students delve into academic material while producing beautiful artwork, singing, reciting poetry, and engaging in movement. For example: Young students learn their times tables through rhythmic movement and beanbag exercises, embodying mathematical concepts; middle school students study cell biology by first observing and drawing the natural world before examining the parts and functions of a cell. This integrative practice, supported by research, brings learning to life and fosters a holistic understanding of the world.

3

Our education is

Relational

From early childhood through grade twelve, we teach through connection and relationship. Our educators cultivate deep, meaningful relationships with students, ensuring they feel seen, known, and valued throughout their educational journey. Teachers strive to understand each student’s unique capacities and consciously support their growth. Because our students feel held and appreciated for who they are, they thrive – academically, socially, and personally.

4

Our education is

Experiential

Whenever possible, our students learn by doing. By sensing, feeling, and engaging with phenomena, they gain understanding from the inside out, making knowledge their own. In mathematics, students first explore and internalize concepts before learning algorithms. Science is taught through experiments and observation, while our social studies curriculum extends beyond the classroom through partnerships with local organizations and community engagement. By deeply immersing themselves in content, both in and out of the classroom, our students absorb and integrate knowledge with excitement and curiosity.

5

Our education is

Holistic

We nurture in our students a profound sense of belonging – to their community, to the Earth, and to something beyond themselves. In the early years, we cultivate wonder and curiosity about the world. In the upper grades, students engage with fundamental human questions: Why am I here? What is my purpose? What are my responsibilities to others and the world? Through literature, reflection, and discussion within a supportive community, students develop a strong sense of identity and purpose, shaping how they approach relationships, work, civic engagement, and life beyond school.

CORE VALUES

These four values are the foundation of our education. In every class, in every grade, we seek to instill these values in our students so that they can step out into the world as the best version of themselves.
