Julie grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and attended college at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where she received a BFA with an emphasis in painting. She then headed west to Denver, Colorado where she joined Americorps NCCC, a program that sent teams of young adults to help in underserved communities. She was able to work in a number of different schools across the country, and it was through this program that Julie discovered her love of teaching. After moving to upstate New York, Julie learned about Waldorf education and taught in both the Early Childhood and grades at Lakeside School. She is thrilled to be joining the faculty at Lake Champlain Waldorf School. Julie lives in the Adirondacks with her husband, two daughters, and cat named Shirley.
